久々に翻訳したくなった〜
あまりラブソングに共感しないタイプなのでそんなに訳してこなかったけど、Nothing But Thievesはラブソングも好き。
彼らの書くラブソングには毒があるというか、歪で、それでいて心を抉るような鋭さもある。
Broken Machineの13なんかは、相手を色々と曰く付きの、恐怖と結びつくような「13」という数字に例えている。13日の金曜日とかの。
この曲もそう。
どこか普通じゃない歪んだラブソング。
飢えたドラキュラに化けたラブソング。

門というのは天国にある門のことだと思う。Graveyard Whistlingでも頭上にある門を開けてくれと歌ってた。
これは私の人生の中でもハイライトの一つだけども、私はこの曲を世界で一番最初に聴いた。2018年のReading Festivalで世界初披露だったので。
